Students who are drawn to service in medically underserved communities and who are prepared to approach these experiences with the same thoughtfulness, initiative, and care are encouraged to apply.

Choosing a rotation

Applicants may pursue rotations already affiliated with the MGH IHP PA Studies program. They may work with the program to develop their own domestic or international rotation ideas. They may also read past recipients’ stories to learn about other possible pathways.

What to prepare

Before completing the official application, be sure to gather the following:

  • Your current PA school GPA

  • Your resume or CV

  • One optional letter of recommendation from a previous service experience

  • Draft responses to the short-answer questions on the MGH IHP application form

The application asks you to briefly address:

  • Why you are applying and what you hope to gain from the experience
